Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Students of Ryan International School Sector-40, Gurugram hosted the 150 th birth anniversary celebrations of our beloved Bapu. The program began with the word of God followed by prayer songs. The planting of the sapling by the esteemed guest Col. Ved Prakash intensified the need for cleanliness and greenery in the society. The Ryanites beautifully brought out the significance of the day through various programmes. Students presented a meaningful enactment on Gandhiji’s visual metaphor of three monkeys which spreads a worldwide message of peace and tolerance. To add on to this, Gandhiji’s life story from his birth till his death was depicted meaningfully through the dance drama ‘Gandhi Ek Yatra’. Gandhi stood for values. Children highlighted the values of non-violence, peace, tolerance through these meaningful performances. The winners of Avantika (Drawing, Greeting and Essay ) Competition were also felicitated with their medals and certificates. The esteemed guest Col. Ved Prakash, addressed the students with a famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Happiness is what you think, say and do’. In his message he stressed on respecting every human being, staying in harmony with everyone, and being positive in your thinking. He concluded his message by quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s saying-‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever’. A song on Swachh Bharat was also sung by the students to foster the feeling of responsible citizenship. The program ended with one of Gandhi's favorite hymns- Vaishnav Jan and National Anthem.
