As a parent, I am satisfied with the opportunities and facilities the school provides. My child is taught well at this institution and the school also ensures that the pupils are well behaved. The school is not only concerned about the studies but the overall development of the student. As compared to the students of other schools, the students of St. Xavier’s stand out, as they have an amazing personality and mannerisms. Seeing the positive and good changes in our daughter, the other kids in our family are intent on studying at this school.

“St. Xavier’s High School” is a name synonymous with knowledge and culture. Each sunrise here teaches something new to its students. They are not only taught what their syllabus comprises but also life lessons that will help them for a lifetime. We can proudly say that the twelve visions of our Chairman have helped us to nurture talents and give rise to global citizens. Our alumni are placed at powerful positions and are distinguished citizens. This is what we dream for all our students and work hard to make come true. We celebrated the silver jubilee of this esteemed institution two years back. My journey with this school started 15 years back. Each day of mine is filled with the satisfaction of knowing that we have added something worthwhile to the lives of thousands of students.

I joined St. Xavier's High School, Raipur on the 16th of June 1992, as an assistant teacher. My experience cannot be explained in lines and paragraphs. This is the school that provides a platform for teachers as well as students to explore and showcase their hidden talents. I can bet that this is the best school in Raipur. As a teacher in this long journey, I have seen students of St. Xavier's High School acquired very high positions in India and abroad, establishing themselves as pioneers in their fields. Our Chairman Sir, Dr. A. F. Pinto is a man of dynamic personality, whose words have motivated me a lot. I have enjoyed my work a lot and also received appreciation from my principal ma'am and other senior staff of the school. Working environment here is very friendly and all staff members always respect and stand by each other. The school management is very cooperative with the staff members. I love my institute and am proud of it.

I have been working at St. Xavier’s for 27 years. The school has given me an opportunity to grow and at the same time I have had the pleasure of giving a helping hand in extra curriculars. The curriculum and the overall development of a child is paid utmost attention to. Not only does the school pay attention to qualities like leadership and self-sustenance of a student but also concentrates at bringing out the inner passions of a child by promoting and supporting them during their stages of growth. I am inspired by our Chairman Sir Dr. A F Pinto and Director Madam Mrs. Grace Pinto, working round the clock, to develop students into becoming a responsible and global citizen. Arranging events like INMUN, Teen Camp, Theatre Festival, etc. gives children a platform to showcase their talents. I wish a bright future for all the students.

With over more than 11 years of experience, I feel that this institution not only provides overall development of the students but also provides room for the upgradation of teachers as well. The management, the peer teachers and the overall environment is motivating, innovative and conducive. The best part of the institution is that here we focus on activity-based learning through which students practically face the problems and find out the solution. Different activities are conducted to develop students’ confidence. I feel proud to be a part of this institution, as every day is a new day for me to learn something new which nurtures my personality development too.

Over more than a decade, Xavier's has been my home. I entered this institution as a fresher and in more than a decade I have grown in leaps and bounds. As a teacher, as a section head I have realised power I have, the responsibilities I shoulder, the duties I must perform. My whole perspective has been etched and moulded by chairman Sir's twelve point vision, his guidance and Madam's dynamic motivation. Today I have learnt and I'm still learning an educator's role within and without the boundaries of the school. Here, at Xavier's Raipur , I have come to understand the importance and implications of the changing methods of teaching, the role of technology in today's education, the new education policy. I am deeply indebted to my institution and my mentors.

At Xaviers teaching is a profession rather than a trade. The role of teachers in a child's education has fundamentally changed. Teaching differs from the old "show-and-tell" practices as much as modern medical techniques differ from practices such as applying leeches and bloodletting.

Instruction doesn't consist primarily of lecturing to students who sit in rows at desks, dutifully listening and recording what they hear, but, rather, offers every child a rich, rewarding, and unique learning experience. The educational environment isn't confined to the classroom but, instead, extends into the home and the community and around the world. Information isn't bound primarily to books; it's available everywhere in bits and bytes.

Students aren't consumers of facts. They are active creators of knowledge. Schools aren't just brick-and-mortar structures -- they're centers of lifelong learning. And, most important, teaching is recognized as one of the most challenging and respected career choices, absolutely vital to the social, cultural, and economic health of our nation.

Today, the seeds of such a dramatic transformation in education are being planted. Prompted by massive revolutions in knowledge, information technology, and public demand for better learning, schools nationwide are slowly but surely restructuring themselves.

Leading the way are thousands of teachers who are rethinking every part of their jobs -- their relationship with students, colleagues, and the community; the tools and techniques I employ; my rights and responsibilities; the form and content of curriculum; what standards to set and how to assess whether Iam being met; my preparation as teacher and myooing professional development; and the very structure of the schools in which I work. In short, I am reinventing myself and my occupation to serve schools and students better.

One of the most powerful forces changing teachers' and students' roles in education is new technology. The old model of instruction was predicated on information scarcity. Teachers and their books were information oracles, spreading knowledge to a population with few other ways to get it.

But today's world is awash in information from a multitude of print and electronic sources. The fundamental job of teaching is no longer to distribute facts but to help children learn how to use them by developing their abilities to think critically, solve problems, make informed judgments, and create knowledge that benefits both the students and society. Freed from the responsibility of being primary information providers, teachers have more time to spend working one-on-one or with small groups of students.

To truly professionalize teaching, in fact,I need to further differentiate the roles a teacher might fill. Just as a good law firm has a mix of associates, junior partners, and senior partners, schools should have a greater mix of teachers who have appropriate levels of responsibility based on their abilities and experience levels. Also, just as much of a lawyer's work occurs outside the courtroom, so, too, should we recognize that much of a teacher's work is done outside the classroom.
